The last few years have seen a large increase in heavier, longer armed sewing machines, the Janome 6600, Brother 4000 and Husqvarna Designer SE are to name but a few. These machines are to keep up with the increasing demand by consumers for more powerful Quilting, Patchworking and embroidery equipment.

The longer and higher arm on these bigger machines is to allow an easier flow for larger amounts of material but because of this they won’t fit into a lot of older Horn cabinets which were then fitted with our 1927 Standard sized lifter (48cms in length). Horn has swiftly responded to this by developing now two longer Horn ‘soft touch’ air lifters; the 1929-53cm and the 1932 - 61cm length elevators. The 1929 - 53cm lifter is now fitted to our entire range apart from only one model, the CUB which is fitted with our standard sized lifter (48cm) and we now have 2 models fitted with our 1932 - (61cm) Maxi-lifter which is fitted to the new Superior (model 2041) and the Professional (model 3002), these larger lifters are suited for not only all newer machines but also for all existing standard sized machines that have been available over the years.
